Go on a White Mountain Native American Adventure

Vacationing in Pinetop, AZ hotels exposes you to beautiful scenery, excellent dining, and eclectic local art. But these aren’t the only features in the area worth exploring. Pinetop hotels also provide the opportunity to Native American culture in the White Mountains

Native American cultural sites surround Pinetop, Arizona hotels.  The 3,000-year-old Casa Malpais ruins feature a 16-acre adobe complex once occupied by the Mogollon, Sinagua, Hohokam and Anasazi tribes. The Kinishiba Ruins Museum near Fort Apache show how the Zuni and Hopi tribes once lived.  You can also take a self-guided walking tour of the Fort Apache Historic District to see historic buildings, ancient burial grounds, and a small Pueblo village.

Art lovers staying in Pinetop will want to visit the Cultural Center Nohwike’ Bagowa.  The museum houses the cultural artifacts of the White Mountain Apache, but is also an art museum.

Stretch your legs before returning to your Pinetop hotel on one of the petroglyph trails surrounding Lyman Lake. If you are interested in Native American cultural history, visit Pinetop and start exploring.
